12/14/2002 Entry: "Classic Christmas Shows"

Holiday Time! I just finished watching TWO very smurfy Christmas specials!! heheh Yes it was on Cartoon Network today. Cartoon Network has a lot of great programming right now for the holidays. So I thought I'd bring up some of the classic Christmas shows I watch every year for the holidays.

'Tis The Season To Be Smurfy (1987) : It's wild smurf's first christmas. Grandpa smurf and Sasette goes to the human village to see how humans celebrate Christmas. At the village they encounter this old couple that are less fortunate than they are. So the smurfs decides to help them out! (I remember watching this special back in the 1980's. I've always loved this show!)

Smurfs Christmas Special (1981) : A big conspiracy by this wizard tries to kidnap the niece and nephew of the king. Meanwhile Gargamel tries to destroy the smurfs. Gargamel works together with the wizard to capture the children and destroy the smurfs. However smurfs finds the children first and eventually holiday goodness saves the day!

Extended Entry Below

RudolphRudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer (1964) - The claymation special. The story of Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer and Herbie the dentist who wants to be an elf.

Charile Brown Christmas (1965) - An absolute Peanuts classic!!! I LOVE this story!

It's a Wonderful Life (1946) - No holiday can be complete without watching this classic film in both black&white and color!!! It's such a terrifc movie!! Of course it's a Frank Capra movie! Starring the handsome James Stewart and the beautiful Donna Reed!!

Miracle on 34th Street (1947) - Okie, I know there are two versions out right now. But the one I like is the not the recent 1994 remake of the film. I love the original 1947 version, starring John Payne and Maureen O'Hara. I remember watching it every year because it's always on television during the holidays.

If you have any holiday specials that you watch every year, feel free to write about it in the comments section! :)

Meanwhile, here's the Christmas Song of the Day: Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
(Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer)
Can you name all the reindeers?? =P

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Lyrics

You know Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen,
Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen.,
But do you recall
The most famous reindeer of all?

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
Had a very shiny nose,
And if you ever saw it,
You could even say it glows.

All of the other reindeer
Used to laugh and call him names;
They never let poor Rudolph
Join in any reindeer games.

Then one foggy Christmas Eve,
Santa came to say:
Rudolph with your nose so bright,
Won't you guide my sleigh tonight?"

Then how the reindeer loved him
As they shouted out with glee,
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,
You'll go down in history."
