04/11/2002 Entry: "Closing of O21G"

Okie after much thought, I guess I'm the only one that haven't said anything about the closing of the O21G. I guess when it comes to these things I have a tendency of keeping a distance from it all. I'm terrible at saying good-byes. I know I'm an Aries and I'm supposed to be headstrong about this, but I was born at 12:15 AM March 21st, so that makes me a very Aries-Pisces cusp-type person. Thus like a Pisces, I withdraw from all the drama ... or maybe that's a Cancer reaction?? Oh anyways, whatever the astrological sign it is, I know I acted very cold and withdrawn from it all. *sigh*

I had a feeling everything was coming to an end after seeing all the drama in the guild from the sidelines. Of course I never considered that the guild could actually close, but "All good things must come to an end" is true. However it is still shocking whenever a good thing actually ends. Extended Entry Below

I didn't do much for the guild except work on the newsletter with Tasha and Kaz. Tasha was the 2nd person I met when I joined the guild. Jessyta was the first person. Then I started chatting on the O21G Yahoo Forum and that's when I met Kaz. After a week or so chatting with Kaz ... Rickie and Bonnie thought since Kaz already worked on the O21G newsletter before, that it would be a good match up if we worked on the newsletter together. So I got recruited by both Rickie and Bonnie to work on the newsletter with Kaz. I knew nothing about the newsletter, but Rickie & Bonnie knew I had the web experience they believed it was a good fit. In the process, I recruited Tasha to help out too. So that's how I got started working in the newsletter.

All three of us went through quite a bit. Not long after we started the newsletter, September 11th happened, and plenty of drama unfolded from there. We had a lot of hurdles we had to jump over. But by December 2001, both Tasha and I resigned.

After the newsletter ended, I was somewhat part of the wish faerie, although I never had time to do much because it was during the holidays. I just made some money for the wish faerie account whenever I could. But then that was it.

But through it all, I was able to meet Cyn, Bonnie, Thori, Cyberwarlock, Alison, Neil, Eva, Shelley, Alex (wherever he is in Singapore) and lots of other people that I'm sure I forgot to mention right now. So despite everything, I was able to meet so many wonderful people that have deeply touched my life. From having the opportunity to meet these people, my circle of friends branched out to everyone that is currently on my blog read list. So from having just one or two friends on the net, I've been able to branch out and meet new people. I owe all of that to the O21G. So I owe a great debt to the courage of Bonnie, Thori, and Alicia for putting together such an awesome club. A huge thank you to the three original founders for giving us all an opportunity to discover new friendships. Yes my thank you is a little belated, but it took me some time to get out of my shell to say all this. And I really do owe you all a huge gratitude for what you've done. I also owe a thank you to all the founders that had the guts to hold the O21G together for as long as you guys did. A belated thank you to you all. :) *hugz*
