04/19/2002 Entry: "Payday"

Mood :: Tired
What a hectic week and day. At least it's payday. But I've been doing so much school-related stuff all week that I hardly get to see my apartment anymore. Well anyways, I still have my PERL class tonight and I'm VERY behind in that class. I couldn't even get past a few chapters of Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger, let alone a few chapters in my PERL book.

I thank all that posted comments in my blog regarding my "Thought for the Day". :) I didn't expect any one to respond to it. But I do like all the very thoughtful feedbacks that I received. It's nice to know that I'm not alone. :)

I don't have much news to share today, except that I found this very useful website called Assist.org I think it may be just a site for California colleges, but it lists all transferrable units and credits at a junior college level that can be acceptable and transferred to a 4-year college, especially the UC (University of California) and the CSU (CalState University). I think this is very useful for all those that can't afford to go straight into a 4-year college and must start out at a less expensive 2-year junior college. Generally a class at a 2-year college is around $15/unit, so if a class is 3 units, that's only $45.00 per class. Which is exactly how I much I paid for taking the PERL class that I'm taking tonight. Meanwhile had I taken a PERL class at a UC, it'll probably cost somwhere around $500/class. So it's always good to take classes at a 2-year college that can be transferrable to a 4-year just to keep one's options open for the future.
