05/16/2002 Entry: "Good Childhood Memories (per Aerik's suggestion)"
|
I just read CW's blog and he suggested these topics for blogging: "What is your earliest childhood memory? What is your happiest memory? What were you "best" at as a child? How did you do in school?" So here I go: (click on read more) Extended Entry Below I guess from the very beginning, I've been very lucky to be born into my grandmother's home. This is my Mom's Mom. I really love my grandmother and grandfather. My grandfather (Mom's Dad) was the one who gave me my name, both in Chinese and English. My Dad's side of the family didn't want much to do with me cause I was a girl, but hey I got my Mom's side of the family. My parents left for America not long after I was born, so all my memories were of my grandparents, aunts, and uncles. As you can see from my baby pictures, I was surrounded by lots of toys (especially elephant ones). (Hmm, I just noticed I got TWO pictures with elephants in them?? Here's the 2nd one. OMG! I was surrounded by elephants! No wonder I picked an elephante for my Neopet!! And the elephant was purple too!! Now this is getting scarey. I think I was brainwashed to like elephantes =P) The first six years of my life were the best! I LOVED it! I got everything I wanted: 1) A good safe home, 2) loving family, and 3) LOTSA toys!. Yes I lived in the countryside of Taiwan, but what do I care? It was all I knew. I didn't know city life. It didn't matter. I got my duck farms in the countryside. Anyways, I think I covered some of my childhood at my bio page at Designcove.com. I have an entire album of over 150 pictures of my life before the age of six (which was when I met my parents). Before then, I was the happiest kid and I had pictures to prove it. It wasn't easy picking out ten of those pictures to put up on my site. Now I admit, I was also a mischevious little kid. I didn't like being treated like a child because I saw how hypocritical adults were, so I don't understand why they punish kids for lying, but never an adult. So my grandmother knew better and always treated me like an adult with full priviledges. I also had lots of fun with singing, dancing, and performing. My grandparents would always record my songs and play it to their friends. Although I always had stage fright, because my knees would always shake when I hold a microphone in front of a audience, but my grandparents always supported me so it didn't matter how good or how bad I did on stage. Of course, all of this fell apart for the next 12 years of my life, when I was frowned on for singing, dancing, and performing by my parents. So I'll just end it here at the happy moments before the unhappy ones starts surging up.

I've been rather busy with some judgemental buffoon at the NA club at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/nativeamericanpride/ up until just now. Anywho, I hope you have a nice day! Zai jian! ^_^ Posted by The-little-wolf-that-flies-through-the-starry-night-sky @ 05/19/2002 04:07 PM PST
