05/29/2002 Entry: "It's Over!"
|
Over the long Memorial Day weekend, I stayed up until 2:00 AM in the morning on Friday to complete my 11-page paper. I turned it in at 9:00 AM Saturday morning and went right back to sleep until 1:00 PM. Then I woke up and watched my Saturday morning cartoons and realized that they took off Zeta Project again! grrr! By the afternoon on Saturday, we went to eat some food and went shopping for some G.U.M. EEZ-Flow Dental Floss and for the $15 off Universal Studios Coca-cola can. Now don't laugh, THIS dental floss is AWESOME! I'm the type that HATES flossing, but this dental floss is SO awesome that we went to five different stores just looking for it! So give it a try! I finally found mine at Rite-Aid. We checked out several Ralphs, Sav-on, Target, etc. but didn't find it. But at Rite-Aid, it was there. More about my weekend in read more... Extended Entry Below We also went on a search for the infamous $15 off Universal Studios Coke can. Our entire Sunday depended on whether or not we can find it. After visiting so many different stores, we almost gave up. Until I looked into the back of the coke-can shelf at Ralphs, then it was there! OUR COKE CAN! We found it! It was a nice glistening six-pack, we needed to take only one, but we felt bad for the other five cans so we bought the whole thing. So Sunday, we went off to Universal Studios. I'll be posting pictures of our trip once they get developed. I was wearing my yellow elephante neopets tshirt. I got a lot of weird looks. I guess no one at Universal Studios knew what Neopets was?? Well anyways, I had fun at the theme park, but I doubt I'll be going again anytime soon. I can't believe how many ignorant people there were working at the park. Everywhere I went the people there assumed I didn't know how to speak English. Just because I look Asian doesn't mean that none of us knows how to speak English. Whenever I bought something, the cashier will say "I need to see some id, either a driver's license or a passport". Like duh! Why would I carry my passport to Universal Studios? I doubt they would ever ask someone with blonde hair or blue eyes their passport. Although I saw quite a few of them speaking pure German at the park. Also we spent all weekend debating if we should get the Nikon Coolpix 2500. It would be so awesome. But William is being Mr. Conservative again so we'll see what happens this weekend. I REALLY want it. I mean, I was so good and never bought that lightsaber. Now I see that this camera will be so handy because we can swivel the lens around to take pictures of ourselves. We hardly have a pictures of the two of us together because someone has to hold the camera. But with this Nikon Coolpix, we can see both of us in the digital display. Also I need pictures as part of my teaching portfolio, it this camera will really help me in that aspect as well. So let's see what happened on Monday?? William had to go to work, so I stayed home, slept until noon, then decided to wake up and go shopping. I needed some summer clothes since I will no longer be working, I needed some casual clothes that I can wear to my classes. There was an awesome sale going on at Sportmart so I bought some clothes there. Also I needed to buy a new pair of running/walking shoes. The ones I wore to Universal Studios really hurt my feet and there is no way I'll last three days in Las Vegas walking in those. So I dragged William to my shoe shopping. We searched all over for a pair of Adidas Supernova, because they were rated #1 by Consumer Report. I would have bought the pair but they were completely sold out of my size. So we went back to the original Shoe Warehouse and bought myself a really nice pair of EasySpirit Antigravity Running/Walking Shoes. It was an awesome price. I think it was $29.99!!! The shoes were really comfortable and I walked around the entire store with them looking for better ones. So on Monday, I got the shoes and the clothes I needed. Now I just need to work on that camera! >:) Oh yes, on Monday night, I totally forgot that I procrastinated on my class presentation and stayed up to 3:00 AM in the morning working on it. Yeah, never thought I'd be up at 3:00 AM. Had I have known it would take me four hours (with multiple computer crashes), I would have worked on my presentation a lot earlier. =P |
