06/13/2002 Entry: "Recap of Vegas Trip"
Before I begin, I wanted to answer a few of the comments that were made:
@Cyn - I only have one blog?? =P Now for the recap of the Vegas trip. (click on read more) Extended Entry Below Our flight arrived from AmericaWest at 10:00 PM in Las Vegas, Nevada. At around 9:30PM, the pilot warned us that the temperature at Vegas was 103 degrees F. By the time we arrived at 10:00 PM, the temperature had dropped to a cool 98 degrees. YIKES! So I made a mad dash for the restroom to change into shorts and a tank top. At my apartment, it was probably around 65 degrees, so Vegas weather is not my cup of tea. We had to find a shuttle that took us to Paris Casino. The average pricei s $4 per person. We arrived at Paris and checked in. Our room was 1979, our neighboring room was 1977. Now, my birthday is 1977, so why didn't we get 1977 for the room?? Anyways, I explored the room and found a grand shower. (wished I took a picture of it). I didn't really like the soap they had, which made me wish I brought my own soap and shampoo. I also found that they had webtv, which means with the wireless keyboard they provided, I could have check email and kept up with the web. But then it was $9.99/ two hours, so I didn't think it was worth it. At Vegas, I played Jackpot Party! Which is my favorite slot game. I also played Blackjack at the MGM Grand (because we were looking for $5 tables). I observed the dealer's pattern of dealing cards for 30 minutes while William played. After I felt comfortable with her pattern of cards, I decided to sit at the corner seat of the blackjack table because I wanted to control the game. Now, I've never played blackjack before at a casino, so this is was a daring act I tried. But the dealer was very nice and so was the group of the people at our table. We had a blast. After 3 hours of play, we walked away with winning around $15. Well actually we walked away with a lot more, because I lost $30 at the roulette before I started playing at the blackjack table. heheh >:) But we entered the MGM with $300, and walked out with $315, so it was pretty good :) Our last day of the trip we ordered room service for breakfast, checked out of Paris, and spent the last few hours in our cool Saturn LS 200 rental car. We drove to the Las Vegas Hilton to check out the Star Trek Experience. We had pictures with two Klingons and one Ferengi. But I left those out of the album =P We then drove to Circus Circus to win a few plushies. Lastly we drove to Bellagio to see the garden. The garden was under renovation at the time so it wasn't great for picture taking. During our last day, both William and I started getting sick. Perhaps it was the heat? Not sure, but we both wanted to go home. I recommend getting a detailed map of Vegas if you're going to drive around the place. We used a AAA map and a Cognoscenti Las Vegas map.
So that's the wrap-up. The links to pictures at at: |
