This is a section I've created to address some of the Bishoujo Sailor Moon Name Controversies.

1)  Spelling of the Outer Senshi names!

Ok, so just how is it suppose to be spelled?!  For example, I have seen Haruka's last name spelled "Tenoh", "Tenou", "Ten'ou", and even "Ten'oh".  Well, after buying a very expensive Sailor Moon Resource Book from Amazon.com, the book has concluded that despite the difficulty in of kanji translation into romaji - "Evidence in both the anime and manga series suggests the "official" spelling is "Tenoh".

So there you have it Sailor Moon fans!  The "official" spelling is:

For Sailor Uranus : Haruka Tenoh

For Sailor Neptune : it's Michiru Kaioh

For Sailor Pluto : it's Setsuna Meioh

Comment made by Takahair on November 10, 2003 - Hi, you site is very good and informative. But I have one criticism, the spelling of the outer senshis last names: the version you said, Kaioh, Meioh, Tenoh, is wrong, you write it really Kaiou, Meiou, Tenou, with an "u" to lenghten the "o". Even when you write the kanji with an IME you have to type "ou", and when it is written with Hiragana you have "ka" "i" "o" "u". best wishes from an part-japanese Takahari

Response to Takahair from Gemelle - You are probably right too. But the information listed on this site is from a published book recognized by both Toei and Guardians of Order. This book is by Mark C. MacKinnon titled "Sailor Moon RPG and Resource Book".

2) English Version of Outer Senshi Names (by Pioneer Entertainment)

Setsuna Meioh = "Trista"

Haruka Tenoh = "Amara"

Michiru Kaioh = "Michelle"

Hotaru Tomoe = "Hotaru"

2) English Version of Outer Senshi Names (by Irwin Toys & by the Sailor Moon RPG & Resource book by Mark C. MacKinnon)

Setsuna Meioh = "Celia"

Haruka Tenoh = "Corrin"

Michiru Kaioh = "Nerissa"

Hotaru Tomoe = "Hotaru"
