s-CRY-ed, is pronounced "scried". This anime
was made by Sunrise Studio in Japan and is distributed by Bandai
Entertainment. It is/was running on Adult Swim. I own the entire
DVD set and for people who love action, this is an great anime.
I can also attest that there are some edits done by Adult Swim.
The plot begins 22 years ago, with a massive uprising
of the ground in Japan's Yokohama region. This region is known as
the "Lost Ground". Over the years, a small percentage
of the children in the Lost Ground developes Alter Powers.
s-CRY-ed stars two young men (Ryuho and Kazuma) with
amazing Alter powers. This alter power is feared by ordinary citizens.
Therefore an organization called HOLY is formed to capture and subdue
the alters inside the Lost Ground. Thus alters are used to hunt
other alters.
Ryuho is a powerful alter that works with HOLY. Meanwhile
Kazuma is a powerful alter that wants to live freely inside the
Lost Ground. These two collide in this action-packed anime.

The American dub versions have voice stars such as
Crispin
Freeman as Straight Cougar, Lex
Lang as Kimishima, and Steve
Blum as Kazuma (male lead), to name a few.
s-CYR-ed is an anime that is acceptable for kids to
watch. There's no nudity or profanity. It just has a lot of action
sequences. If a child is old enough to watch pro-wrestling, they're
old enough to watch s-CRY-ed.
s-CRY-ed reminds me of Witch Hunter Robin and X-Files.
There's always a conspiracy inside powerful government agencies.
I also love the love triangles in this anime.
However, I think the ending could have been better.
Perhaps I'm seeing this from a female perspective, but I really
wish that some of the personal situations in the show could have
had a more definite ending. Otherwise I thoroughly enjoyed this
anime!
