Useful link of the day:
Toshiba e310 Pocket PC
I discovered the wonderful world of PDA over the weekend. I got
myself a Toshiba Pocket PC 2002 (model E310). The package came with
a desktop cradle, leather case, Outlook 2002 and other Pocket PC
software on it. I would have bought the newer version of the Toshiba
model E740, the one with the wireless connection, but then it was
$300 more and didn't think it was worth the price at this point.
I purchased mine at Cosco Wholesale, but I noticed today that Amazon.com
has a much better price with all it's cool mail-in rebates. Now
with a PDA, comes the fun of customization. There is this wonderful
site called PDAstreet.
It's a great site filled with useful add-ons onto the PDA. There's
even a special link just for Pocket PCs (Pocket
PC City). So for those that have PDAs, this is a very worthy
site to check out and bookmark!!!
Pocket PC Useful Links:
I've discovered quite a few softwares that I like on Pocket PC.
Since everything in the US is so Microsoft oriented, it makes life
easier for me if all my softwares are Microsoft Windows compatible.
I don't want lots of softwares on my pocket pc ... I'm more than
happy with the 32 megs of space that comes on my pocket pc. The
battery lasts about 3.5 hours without any recharging. The Toshiba
Pocket PC runs with Armstrong?? operatins sytem. I just know that
I choose anything that says (ARM).

onto my list because I'll be using this quite a lot starting next
semester. So I thought I'd get used to it.

I prefer to have a Microsoft
Operating System. All cell phones are going Pocket PC so I might
as well have a compatible PDA to go along with it. Plus, my PDA
is silver :) And I've found all the programs I'll ever need for
pocket pc, including ones for teacher organization. But it's a personal
preference. I chose the Pocket PC because that's where I see the
American market heading.

Why did you get a PPC over PalmOS?
Well, good luck finding compatible programs, you'll need it. Also,
your battery life is about 1/5 that of color Palms, plus the fact
the whole UI is slow and clunky.
