I attended UCLA from 1995-1999 and had a wonderful
college experience!! The social life of the college dorms and the
jazzy life of Westwood made UCLA the best choice for my college
experience. I truly believe that it is the best college to attend
(definitely the best priced for what it has to offer) ... of course,
I'm a little biased. =P
Now a little about the UCLA dorm system back in the
late 90's:
1) I used to live in Sunset
Village, which comprised of Canyon Point, Delta Terrace, and
Courtside.
2) Canyon Point was the oldest of the three.
3) Sunset Village was considered one of the
nicest dorms available at the time.
4) As of 1999, Sunset Village was the most
expensive out of the dorms at UCLA
5) The home dining hall for Sunset Village
is Covel Commons, formally called Sunset Commons, which was formally
called Griffen Commons ... you get the point ~_^
6) You can eat at any of the dining facilities,
especially at the newly opened Rieber Hall and Hedrick Dining Hall,
which has some of the best food that I've ever tasted!
7) I spent a lot of time in the Sunset Village
arcade. Whenever I was stressed, I would go play a few games of
Bust-the-Move or X-men vs. Street Fighter. The air hockey table
wasn't bad either, I just had to find someone willing to play against
me >:) However, in 1999 it was shut down and turned into the
dining area for Puzzles. I miss that arcade. :(
Then my third year rolled around and off I went
into apartment life . . .
Life in the apartments was obviously more quiet.
It was very different from dorm life. I even got myself a Honda
scooter to help scurry myself around the apartments and the main
campus. It was a great experience nonetheless, and of course, it
was MUCH cheaper than living in the dorms!!! :)
